Healthcare Navigator CC was established in 2002 to provide consulting services mainly to the healthcare industry. Consulting services are also offered to other industries from time to time as may be required. Healthcare Navigator is a single-proprietor business owned by Esmé Prins-Van den Berg.

Esmé is a qualified attorney, notary, and conveyancer. She holds the degrees BLC (Cum Laude) LLB (Cum Laude) LLM (Constitutional Law and Human Rights) (Cum Laude). Her master’s thesis considered the constitutionality of the regulation of medical practice. She is a fellow of the Institute of Directors of South Africa (IODSA). She is a director of HospiVision NPC.

Esmé specialises in health law, corporate governance, health policy, medical ethics, health industry matters, and legal frameworks such as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the Consumer Protection Act.  Esmé has a special interest in making legal documents understandable and accessible to audiences.

Esmé’s background and experience include spending time at the following institutions:

• • SA Medical Association (SAMA): Head of the Health Policy and Private Practice Units. Whilst at SAMA, she undertook a managed healthcare study tour in the United States of America and Canada.
